Spectra® S-1000, the second in a series of Spectra, was developed to meet customers’ needs for increased performance. It is available in a multitude of deniers (75 - 2600) for use in a wide range of applications.

Spectra® S-1000 fiber has a tenacity 15 – 20% higher than that of Spectra S-900 fiber. This extended chain polyethylene fiber has one of the highest strength to weight ratios of any manmade fiber.  Spectra fiber is, pound-for-pound, 10 times stronger than steel, more durable than polyester and has a specific strength that is 40% greater than aramid fiber. Specific performance is dependent upon denier and filament count.

Spectra® 1600-180 is one of the world’s strongest (38 / 3.25 g/den) and lightest fibers with a denier of 1600 / 1779 decitex. The breaking strength of this product is 135 lbs with an elongation of 3.3%.

Spectra® 180 is one of the world’s strongest (38 / 3.25 g/den) and lightest fibers with a denier of 180 / 200 decitex. The breaking strength of this product is 15.1 lbs with an elongation of 3.3%.

Spectra® 200 is one of the world’s strongest (38 / 3.25 g/den) and lightest fibers with a denier of 210 / 233 decitex. The breaking strength of this product is 17.9 lbs with an elongation of 3.5%.

Spectra® 215 is one of the world’s strongest (38 / 3.25 g/den) and lightest fibers with a denier of 215 / 239 decitex. The breaking strength of this product is 18 lbs with an elongation of 2.9%.
